It is not until you read a transcript of a conversation that you realise how much our written word differs from our spoken word and how easily the written word can be misconstrued when you do not hear the tone of the conversation.

In the interviews that I have been doing for my podcasts, this became particularly evident, and without hearing the tone of the conversation, subjects that we spoke about could all of a sudden become negative rather than positive, based on the words used without hearing the tone.

It is a good idea to have an edited transcript to allow the tone of the conversation to be clarified and to ensure that technical terms are correctly contextualised.
